Setting up your own NetMeeting ILS server

It's important to remember that you need to have a lot of bandwidth to run a public ILS server. A very fast cable modem might work but a T1 or faster is recommended. If you plan to keep it private with not many users you should be able to get away with a slower connection.

Windows 2000 Server

If you are using Windows 2000 server you can add the NetMeeting ILS server software easily from the Add/Remove windows components control panel. The ILS is then the IP or DNS of the server.

Windows NT 4 Server

If you are using Windows NT 4 Server you can download ILS version 2.0. Meetingbywire.com says that this software will be phases out in the future and replaced with Site Server 3.0.

Linux

This site has information on how to set up your own ILS server running on Linux. Meetingbywire.com has more information on their site.
